Teacher-in-Training (The Cat's Pyjama's Rolleston)
The Cat’s Pyjamas Preschool Rolleston is looking for a passionate Teacher in Training to join our energetic, supportive team. Our purpose-built centre provides a warm, nurturing environment where children, Kaiako and whānau feel valued, and where quality ratios and age-appropriate group sizes are at the heart of what we do.
An exciting opportunity is now available in our Kōwhai Room (2–3.5 years). We believe tamariki are naturally motivated to play, and our programme encourages them to explore their interests through fun, meaningful experiences. Learning is a collaborative journey here, children, teachers and whānau work together to support aspirations and positive outcomes for all.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is currently enrolled in a Level 7 ECE qualification - Ideally in your 1st or 2nd year of study
- Brings enthusiasm and a genuine love for working with 2–3.5 year olds
- Communicates confidently and enjoys being part of a close-knit team
- Is flexible, motivated and excited to work in a fun, supportive environment
We’re proud to offer our Kaiako a 4‑day working week option, supporting wellbeing and work–life balance. Our team is long-standing, consistent, and committed to creating a place where everyone thrives.
About the role: This is a permanent 30‑hour per week position, Monday–Friday. Choose between:
- Five 6‑hour days (9.00–3.30), or
- Four 7.5‑hour days (8.30–4.30) with Fridays off
