About the Role
As a Teacher in Training, you'll work closely with our qualified teaching team to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children. You'll gain valuable practical experience while completing your approved Early Childhood Education qualification, developing the skills and confidence needed to become a successful registered teacher.
This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
In This Role, You'll:
- Support children's learning and development through engaging, child-led experiences.
- Build positive relationships with children, whānau, colleagues, and the wider community.
- Contribute to learning stories, observations, and planning alongside qualified teachers.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all tamariki.
- Embrace culturally responsive practices.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning, passionate about early childhood education, and ready to make a positive difference in the lives of young learners. You'll ideally have:
- Enrolment in, or plans to enroll in, a Level 7 ECE Bachelor qualification
- A strong interest in child-led learning and extending children's ideas and interests
- An understanding of Te Whāriki and current ECE regulations
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A positive, caring, and professional attitude
- Reliability, initiative, and a willingness to learn
