Teacher-in-Training (BestStart Oamaru Kindy)
BestStart Oamaru Kindy is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher in Training to join our experienced and close-knit team.
At BestStart Oamaru Kindy, we believe in learning as we play and growing as we learn together. Located in Oamaru, our charming villa provides a warm, homely environment for children aged 2 to 5 years, where they can feel comfortable, valued and confident as they learn through play.
With a huge outdoor environment and our involvement as an Enviroschool, there are plenty of opportunities for children to explore, discover and develop their independence.
About the Role
This is a permanent, part-time position working 12 hours per week, rostered across Monday and Tuesday from 8.30am to 3.00pm. You’ll work alongside a well-established and experienced teaching team who will support you as you grow your skills and confidence as an ECE teacher.

Role Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is committed to making a difference in the lives of our young learners and can demonstrate:
- Enrolment in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor programme, or plans to enrol
- An understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending children’s learning
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through your teaching practice
- A genuine passion for delivering quality care and education
