We are a Montessori Preschool located in a lovely, refurbished St Albans villa which immediately feels like a home. We strongly believe in Montessori Philosophy where we strive to teach our children lifelong skills, focusing on respect and encouraging the independence and capabilities of each child. We have a secure and long standing team that have mostly been here for the past 13 years. We are passionate about being part of our community with regular excursion to St Albans Primary School and Merivale Retirement Village.

About the Role:
Whether you are a newly qualified teacher or an experienced educator, if you have a passion for teaching young children, we want to hear from you.
We have two classrooms; the Pipi Room is for children 1 - 3 years old and the Paua Room is for children aged from 3 - 5 years old. We have a very calm and well-prepared environment where children are encouraged to ask questions, have discussions, make discoveries and have a sense of curiosity in the world around them.
This is a fixed term position from November 2024 - October 2025, working 30 hours per week Monday-Friday, based in our Paua Room.
Role requirements:
Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:
- B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification
- Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
- A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices
- Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
