BestStart Allenton is a small, community-focused centre in Ashburton, located next to Allenton School. Our curriculum is shaped by the values of our whānau and Kaiako, inspired by the braided rivers of our region—symbolising the important roles of family, learning, and community.

We’re looking for a passionate and qualified Certificated Teacher to join our supportive and energetic team. This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with flexibility to work with either under-twos or 2.5 to 3.5-year-olds.

What We’re Looking For:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification
  • A sound understanding of a child-led curriculum, planning, and extending children’s learning
  • Strong knowledge of current ECE Regulations, Te Whāriki, and a commitment to compliance
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your teaching practice
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality early childhood education
