About us:  

At BestStart, we’re leaders in the early childhood sector, we make a difference, and we love what we do. We provide high-quality early education and award-winning childcare for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. 

We are looking for dedicated and passionate Kaiako to join our centres in Central Otago! We have 2 beautiful centres, BestStart Queenstown and BestStart Hanleys Farm, that are looking to extend their teams.

About the Role:  

Whether you are a newly qualified teacher or an experienced educator, if you have a passion for teaching young children, we want to hear from you This position can be flexible with the age group, depending on where your passion lies.

This would be a permanent position, working 30 - 40 hours depending on your work/life balance needs.

Role requirements:  

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:  

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification  
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning  
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
