BestStart Petone is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic and tight-knit team as our new Head Teacher in our Toddler Room.

Tamariki are supported to extend on their prior learning, embark on new challenges, pursue learning goals, and participate in an engaging programme which promotes exploration and imaginative thinking.
This position can be for a Head Teacher or for an experienced Kaiako that is happy to support the team with their knowledge and in the classroom, alongside a shared leadership model. We have an experienced Head Teacher in our Infant Room that could work in partnership with the right applicant. We are happy to look at different options within the leadership team to support the right person.

About the Role:
This is a permanent position working 40 hours Monday-Friday
Our Toddler's Room is set up to create adventures for our energetic toddlers. Whether this be through exciting messy play discoveries or learning how to challenge themselves physically; our kaiako are there to support children's learning and development along the way. Tamariki are provided with experiences which extend their learning and build on toddlers’ interests.
Role requirements:
- B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification
- A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum
- Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
- Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
