BestStart Elles Road is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic and tight-knit team as our new Head Teacher in our Matai room. 

At Beststart Elles Road our Kaiako observe and listen to the individual strengths and interests of all our tamariki, they have autonomy over their own learning. About the Role:  

This is a permanent position working 40 hours Monday-Friday  

As our new Head Teacher for the Under-2s room, you will be responsible for leading the team to create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that promotes the holistic development of infants and toddlers. This role involves fostering meaningful relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the wider community while upholding the centre's philosophy and vision.

Role requirements:  

We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth.   

As well as:  

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification  
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum  
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
