About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has opened up at BestStart Te Atatū Road for a qualified and registered Preschool Teacher to join our team for a six-month maternity cover. Located in the heart of Te Atatū Peninsula, our centre is proud to be a warm, homely space within a vibrant and diverse community, with strong connections to our whānau.
We’re looking for a caring and passionate teacher who values high-quality practice and sees the environment as the “third teacher.” You’ll join a close-knit, fun, and supportive team that truly values relationships with each other, our tamariki, and the wider community. In this role, you’ll create a safe and engaging learning environment, plan age-appropriate activities, and support children’s learning and development. Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for early childhood education are essential.
This is a fixed term position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) until 20th November 26
About You:
You’ll be a qualified and registered teacher who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. You’ll bring:
- BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 ECE and current Teacher Registration
- A strong understanding of Te Whāriki, child-led learning, and assessment practices
- Sound knowledge of ECE regulations and a commitment to high-quality compliance
- A genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your teaching practice
- Passion, energy, and a focus on delivering quality outcomes for tamariki
