Our centre is a place where families are always welcome. Te Ao Māori and Tikanga practices are woven throughout our bicultural curriculum. We make use of the rich resources in our local community to extend our learning and understanding of the world. Not only are we out and about meeting locals and discovering the local environment, we also have regular visitors from the community
Whether you have a passion for cooking or an experienced chef, if you have a passion for preparing meals for young children, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for an energetic and organised Centre Cook to join our early childhood centre, where you’ll prepare, and serve fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals each day.
This is a fixed-term posiiton working 40 hours per week until 23rd February 2027.
Role requirements::
- Knowledge around health and safety in the kitchen and set high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
- Strong time‑management and organisational skills.
- A passion for cooking and baking
- An understanding of food safety, allergies and dietary requirements
- Be computer literate in order to design menus and place orders each week
- The ability to remain within the budgets for ordering food
- A passion for promoting healthy eating for young children
