We are lucky to have two large outdoor areas with vegetable and herb gardens created by our teachers and children. We believe that children need to gain the ability to take risks in a managed environment – through taking risks children allow themselves to be put in unfamiliar situations where they are able to learn and develop new skills. 

About the Role:  

If you have a passion for teaching young children and are currently enrolled to study in a level 7 ECE programme (ECE Bachelor), we want to hear from you. 

Due to an increase in occupancy, we are looking for a superstar Teacher in Training to join our BestStart Roydvale nursery. With lots of experience in our teaching team we offer a great learning focused community for both our tamariki and our in-training teachers. Nurture and care are reflected in our everyday practices. If you have a passion for infant and toddler development, this is the role for you!

This is a permanent position working 27.5-30 hours per week Monday-Friday.

Role requirements:  

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:  

  • Enrolment into a level 7 ECE Bachelor course 
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning  
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
