Due to an internal promotion, BestStart Redwood is excited to welcome a new Head Teacher to lead our Pohutukawa room, supporting our wonderful 2–3½ year olds. This is a permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a rotating roster.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a confident, positive and experienced Head Teacher to join our passionate team. You'll lead with heart and purpose, supporting a team that respects and uplifts the mana of every tamaiti, whānau, and kaiako. You’ll also need to be flexible with rostered hours, including the ability to open and close the centre when needed.

About You:

We are seeking a natural leader who shares our values and is committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Level 7 ECE qualification and current Teaching Certification
  • Proven leadership experience in an ECE setting, with the ability to inspire and support a team
  • Confidence in curriculum planning, pedagogy, and assessment
  • Experience working specifically with 2–3 year olds, and a strong understanding of their developmental needs
  • Solid knowledge of ECE regulations, Te Whāriki, and a commitment to maintaining compliance
  • A strong sense of teamwork, collaboration, and a genuine passion for teaching and learning
