About the Role:
BestStart Dannemora is a vibrant, multicultural centre where staff are inspired and supported to be their best. We’re looking for an outstanding, enthusiastic, fully registered and friendly qualified teacher to lead our Kindy and Pre School rooms. This Head Teacher role offers the opportunity to work across two preschool rooms, guiding children aged 3–5 in a warm, welcoming environment that values strong relationships with whānau and the wider community.
We believe in strong partnerships with parents and whānau, building meaningful relationships and forming deep connections between home and centre. What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a committed teacher who demonstrates:
- A passion for working with young children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to provide a high-quality learning environment for children and their families/whānau
- A strong understanding of programme planning, assessment, and internal evaluation
- Respectful teaching practices and a commitment to reflective learning
- The ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- A deep understanding of Te Whāriki and current ECE regulations
- A drive to lead and inspire others
- Bachelor of Education or Diploma of Teaching Level 7 (ECE)
- Current full teacher registration/certification
