We are seeking a superstar cook who brings creativity, enthusiasm, and a strong understanding of healthy eating to support the wellbeing of our tamariki.
About the Role
You will play a key role in planning and preparing fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals each day, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. You’ll also support our centre’s journey toward achieving Healthy Heart Bronze, helping us foster a strong culture of health and wellbeing.
Our purpose-built centre includes a welcoming, well-equipped kitchen, perfect for someone who enjoys working in a supportive, community-focused environment.
This is a permanent role, 30 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:00pm).
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for cooking and baking
- Has sound knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating for young children
- Understands allergies and dietary requirements
- Maintains high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen health & safety
- Can confidently plan menus, order supplies, and manage a budget
- Is comfortable using a computer for menu planning and ordering
- Is committed to making a positive difference for young learners
