ECE Caregiver (BestStart Marshland Road)
BestStart Marshland Road is looking for a warm, energetic and reliable Caregiver to join our close-knit team. This role provides break cover across our rooms for tamariki aged 2 to 5 years, so flexibility and confidence working with different age groups is key.

About the Role
As our Caregiver, you’ll work alongside our dedicated teaching team to provide a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for our tamariki.
You’ll move across our rooms to cover staff breaks, supporting children aged 2 to 5 years. No two days will look quite the same, so you’ll need to be adaptable, confident and happy to jump in wherever you’re needed.
On a typical day, you will:
- Provide quality care and support for our tamariki
- Engage in play and experiences that encourage learning and exploration
- Work across different classrooms and cover staff breaks
- Be a positive and supportive member of our centre team
This is a permanent position working 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts between 8am and 4.30pm. Flexibility and reliability are essential for this role.
About You
An ECE qualification is not required, but we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and has:
- Experience working with children under five
- A warm, caring and positive approach
- Flexibility and reliability
- Initiative and a willingness to get involved
- The ability to take direction and work well within a team
