ECE Caregiver (BestStart Balclutha)
BestStart Balclutha is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Caregiver to join our close-knit team on a fixed-term basis, covering parental leave from November 2025 to May 2026.

About the Role
As a Caregiver, you’ll play a key role in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our tamariki. This is your chance to make a real difference by fostering creativity, exploration, and a love of learning.
Working closely with our Centre Manager and passionate teaching team, you’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive environment that values your contributions.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Provide high-quality care and support to tamariki
- Join in with centre activities, bringing energy and fun
- Support across classrooms and during staff breaks
- Champion teamwork and contribute to the smooth running of our centre
This is a fixed-term role working 32 hours per week across 4 days (flexible days for the right candidate).
About You
While an ECE qualification is not required, you will bring:
- A genuine passion for working with young children, especially infants and toddlers
- Previous experience caring for or working with children
- Initiative, flexibility, and a positive, can-do attitude
- The ability to work well within a team and take direction
