BestStart Totara Street is a purpose-built early learning centre located in the stunning town of Taupō. Licensed for 80 children, we cater to both Under Twos and Over Twos across three thoughtfully designed classroom spaces. Our centre vision is “Getting to know you, to grow you”—a reflection of our deep commitment to building strong relationships and partnerships that support every child’s success. We’re on the lookout for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated leader to guide our amazing team and continue driving excellence in early childhood education.
About the Role
This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for a fully registered teacher with proven experience in leading high-performing teams. As Centre Manager, you’ll:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and staff
- Influence the direction and culture of the centre
- Support and grow your team through coaching and development
- Lead with confidence, collaboration, and clarity
- Ensure curriculum, planning, and compliance are delivered to the highest standard

About You
You’re a passionate, forward-thinking leader who thrives in a collaborative and caring environment. You bring energy, creativity, and a drive for high-quality outcomes.
You’ll also have:
- A Level 7 ECE qualification & current NZ Teacher Certification
- Strong knowledge of ECE regulations and child-led curriculum
- A deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive practice
- Proven coaching skills to uplift and empower your team
