Centre Manager (BestStart Everglade Preschool)
About the Role:
BestStart Everglade Preschool is seeking a passionate Centre Manager to lead our centre licensed for 50 children aged 2 to 5 years. You’ll guide a friendly team all committed to creating the best learning and care environment.
We take pride in being part of a vibrant, multicultural community, celebrating the diverse backgrounds of our children and staff. This inclusive environment helps children learn to appreciate and respect cultural diversity.
Our centre has strong connections with local schools such as Everglade Primary, Hill Park, Manurewa Central, and Redoubt Primary. We actively engage in school events and partner closely with our sister centre, BestStart Everglade Babies.
We’re looking for a strong, warm, and experienced leader who can motivate teams and create an inclusive, supportive environment for families and staff. Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage the centre independently are essential. A reflective mindset, openness to learning, and a drive for continuous improvement are also key.
As Centre Manager, you will lead with purpose, ensuring high standards of learning and care, managing enrolments, and overseeing smooth operations. Your leadership will foster a collaborative culture where children, staff, and families thrive.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday
Role requirements:
Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for the following:
- B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher certification
- Strong understanding of child-led curriculum, pedagogy and curriculum
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
- A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices
- You’ll be known for being a great coach, who can unlock the potential of others, you will have previous leadership experience
- You are an innovator, both in input and output – being part of simplifying the way we do things excites you!
