Are you someone who finds joy in the kitchen and loves creating healthy, nourishing meals for others? At BestStart Motutaiko Street, we’re looking for a passionate and organised Centre Cook to join our team and support the daily wellbeing of our tamariki through wholesome, home-style cooking.
This is a permanent part-time role, working 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
As our Centre Cook, you will:
- Plan and prepare morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea
- Create delicious, culturally diverse meals that support the health and development of our tamariki
- Cater to a range of dietary requirements and allergies
- Be well-organised and efficient in the kitchen, with a strong focus on food safety and hygiene
- Be confident using a computer to design menus and place weekly food orders
- Work within a set budget for food and supplies
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for cooking and healthy eating for children
- Understands the importance of nutrition in early childhood
- Has knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
- Enjoys being part of a supportive, collaborative team
