About Us:
At BestStart Herewini Street, we’re more than just a childcare centre - we’re a whānau. This is a permanent part-time position working 30 hours per week.

About the Role:
We’re looking for a passionate Centre Cook to join our team and make a real difference through the power of food. You’ll prepare fresh, nutritious, and healthy meals that support our tamariki’s growth, development, and overall wellbeing.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and preparing nutritious, balanced menus tailored to children's needs
  • Catering to dietary requirements and allergies
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies, and staying within budget
  • Maintaining excellent hygiene and food safety standards
  • Promoting healthy eating habits across our centre

What We’re Looking For:

  • A love for healthy cooking and baking
  • Knowledge of children’s nutritional needs, food safety, and allergy management
  • Basic computer skills for menu planning and ordering
  • A friendly, team-player attitude and comfort working in a child-focused environment
