At BestStart Coast Boulevard, we nurture both the bodies and minds of our tamariki, understanding the vital role that healthy eating, movement, and emotional well-being play in a child's development. 

We are seeking a passionate centre cook to create healthy and nutritious meals for our tamariki. This is a permanent part-time position working 30 hours per week.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan and prepare morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, focusing on healthy and nutritious options
  • Create delicious, culturally diverse meals that support the growth and development of tamariki
  • Cater thoughtfully to a range of dietary needs and allergies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Use technology to design menus and manage weekly food orders
  • Work within a set budget to make the most of food and supplies

Who we’re looking for:

  • Someone with a genuine passion for cooking healthy, nutritious meals for children
  • An understanding of the role nutrition plays in early childhood development
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
