About Us

BestStart Styx Mill is looking for a warm, organised, and proactive Centre Administrator to join our welcoming and supportive team. We are passionate about providing high-quality care and education for the tamariki in our community and are seeking someone who shares our commitment to creating positive experiences for children and whānau.

This is a fixed-term position covering parental leave from June 2026 to January 2027, working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for many of our families, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the centre while creating a welcoming and professional experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to families and visitors 
  • Managing enrolments, bookings, and parent enquiries 
  • Maintaining parent accounts, direct debits, and payment records 
  • Meeting daily, weekly, and termly administrative deadlines 
  • Supporting new families through the enrolment process 
  • Using a variety of systems and programmes, including Word, Excel, and Outlook 
  • Occasionally assisting within the centre when required 

You'll also receive ongoing support from our National Administration Support Team, who provide training, guidance, and helpdesk assistance.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and enjoys building positive relationships with people.

You will bring:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills 
  • A warm and welcoming approach with children, families, and colleagues 
  • Experience managing accounts and responding to account-related queries 
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail 
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook 
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a busy environment 
  • A positive, team-focused attitude and a commitment to going the extra mile
