Caregiver (BestStart West Melton)
BestStart West Melton is looking for a passionate and energetic Caregiver to join our Top Cats Before and After School Care Programme. Working with children aged 5–12 years, you'll be part of a fun, supportive team dedicated to creating positive and engaging experiences for tamariki.

About the Role
As a Caregiver, you will:
- Provide quality care and supervision before and after school
- Safely escort children to and from school
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities for children aged 5–12 years
- Support children with homework when needed
- Build positive relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
- Ensure children's wellbeing and safety at all times
Position Details
This is a fixed-term position from September 2026 to November 2027, working 23.75 hours per week.
Term Time (Monday to Friday):
- 7:30am – 9:00am
- 2:45pm – 6:00pm
During school holidays, you will support the holiday programme and assist with wider centre operations. Hours may vary during these periods.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with primary school-aged children (preferred)
- Is reliable, patient, and nurturing
- Can confidently manage groups of children
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys being part of a team
- Uses initiative and follows guidance well
A teaching qualification is not required. A genuine love for working with children is what matters most.
