About the Role:  

Beststart Fendalton is looking for a superstar to fill our Preschool Head Teacher position! We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Teacher who is passionate about working with any age, but especially 2-3 year olds (as our Preschool Room is mixed aged with 2-5 years olds). Our new Head Teacher will be lucky to join a team who gets along well, enjoys a laugh, and have regular team building outings outside of work. 

Our successful applicant will need to be:

  • experienced working in a leadership role in an ECE setting or be confident they are ready to step into a leadership role
  • bubbly, outgoing, kind, patient, and able to show initiative
  • positive and solution focused. Ideally, a self-starter -creating exciting ideas and experiences to extend our children's learning 
  • aligned with our centre philosophy
  • have excellent time management skills (staying up to date with planning and documentation)
  • able to build strong inter-team relationships as well as with parents and whanau

Role requirements: 

We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision. We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth.  As well as: 

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification 
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum 
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard 
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality 

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours, between 730am-530pm, Monday-Friday.
